I'm not a libertarian by any measure, but I think that a candidate who wants to continue the criminalization of marijuana and other recreational drugs, prohibit abortion in almost all circumstances and keep Medicare in place (especially with its government-funded doctor payments) leaves something to be desired for a doctrinaire libertarian. And this is before he went all squishy on the Civil Rights Act."

Wildboy speaks truth. Ron and Rand are not true Libertarians. Can you imagine Rand going to a rally in Kentucky and daring the Teabaggger crowd to give up their SS and Medicare to show their support.

I recently read that 42% of births in the US were paid by Medicare. So there's that.

I have been reading "Reason" for years. The writers admit that libertarians cannot put forth a reasonable candidate for a major office for the same reason no one else can really put together a 3rd party candidate for a major office. Its almost impossible to get elected to office without espousing anything but lies.

Who will get elected with a platform of "We have 60 Trillion In Un-Funded Liabilities!!" Now that's change you can believe in motherf....r.
