Does the Conservation of Energy Apply to Love?

... Of course some boundaries are more charming than others.

My littlest playing in our neighbor's yard after our neighbor's home was toilet papered as a playful roust by teenage swimmers the night before the big neighborhood swim championships.

“There is a fact, or if you wish, a law, governing natural phenomena that are known to date. There is no known exception to this law; it is exact, so far we know. The law is called conservation of energy; it states that there is a certain quantity, which we call energy, that does not change in manifold changes which nature undergoes. That is a most abstract idea, because it is a mathematical principle; it says that there is a numerical quantity, which does not change when something happens. It is not a description of a mechanism, or anything concrete; it is just a strange fact that we can calculate some number, and when we finish watching nature go through her tricks and calculate the number again, it is the same.”

That looks like one perfectly happy, starry eyed, proud boy...
Those moments are rare, and great, aren't they ?
When we take off the boxing gloves and share pictures.
Am rereading "A Death in the Family" by one of America's greatest men, James Agee.
I definitely recommend it if you haven't read it already. When I was YOUNG, I found it rather boring, but now, it has acquired an "épaisseur" that makes it truly great. Or have I acquired a little more "épaisseur" ?
With my GP this morning, a guy who I "tutoie", and who did my pap screen, we agreed this morning that explanations and thinking need to be turned off sometimes in order to just LIVE.
Thanks for the photo, Thai. It is truly beautiful.

Thai,

I googled conservation of energy. As I thought, it's to begin with conservation of mass energy. Secondly it's a physical theory so has not necessarily been proven in any social science which are not dependent on energy and mass alone but rather on human organizational properties, third it holds only for systems which are not time dependent and only for closed systems, two conditions which are very rare (see Wikepedia) and like any thing else in science or life for that matter, it will be found to be wrong one day as our knowledge advances or receeds so it should not be used to prevent all inquiry and discussion of differences within systems for that matter.

You can have one response if you choose, after that I would hope that you would stop with this. You become like Yoyomo obsessed, long after people have said all they have to say on the subject.

Note your son looks like a very nice, happy little boy. How old is he?

SS, as I said, I am not trying to force this idea on you or anyone. It is just a theory to explore, nothing more. I certainly do not want to have it with someone who does not want to have it.

So my response to your response

Again, I am not interested in pointing out whether or not I do or do not agree with you or your comment or your understanding of the conservation of energy, or energy or mass or time or etc...

As I said before, I am not trying to force this discussion- honest, honest, honest.

It makes no difference to me whether you like it, don't like it, etc...

AND I was having a perfectly lovely private email exchange with Dink on the subject when I received your rather rude personal comments.

Disagree with me- fine.

Reject a thread of discussion- again fine.

Stay out of some conversations but not others- again fine.

But make rather rude personal attacks- you may get a response.

... Notice I know very little about French history/heresy so I do not comment- but I do not personally insult either.

I will say Dink has made the rather apropos following comment in private conversation

"Neal Stephenson, who I won't shut up about, wrote a short book/essay titled "In The Beginning Was The Command Line". It is his shortest published work and describes his experience learning computers in the 70s. Anyway, he describes a concept called "metaphor shear" which is the point when a metaphor seperates from the item you're comparing it to. As I like to learn by analogy, metaphor shear is my nemesis. Which brings us to Sasha grapes.

Is idea energy a metaphor to "real" energy or is it actual energy?
If actual, I'm wrapped around the axle on even the basics such as what is the object, work, and force?
If metaphor, then Newton is sheared."

Amen

As I said before (and really did/do mean it despite the rude personal attacks) "move on".

This posting was only my statement to make it a little less personal

And thanks. James is 8 and he is a really great kid. I could not be more proud of him than I am.

Can't find anything to apologize for, wish I could I value the dialog with you, just not on this subject. I've think we've both said all that we can constructively say very numerous times.

Geez you guys, I think the moon and the stars must be in awful positions for our tempers.
I have just bowed out of my internet forum with my favorite loonies after a big flare/fight.(Time to be moving on, and the prospect of a nice, symbiotic/autistic relation with my new piano beckoons.)
The most "hystérique" person on the forum accused me of not having the right to belong to the psychotic club.
Let's try not to be as crazy/childish as the loonies over here, right ?
It is always my luck to be disowned by all clubs (not that I really want to belong to them anyway...)
Who's to say that next week YOU'RE not going to kick me out of here because you think that I can't belong because I'm... LOONY ???
Let's laugh.
The picture is worth a thousand words, and it's better than everything, right ?

I'll agree with Den on that, a child smiling is a success in anyone's book!

Amen.

Kiss and make up and all be friends.

Now back to French heresy!

This is a rather new topic me (except for when I read The Name of the Rose)

And Deb, I think all of us would be happy to try to get you to the front of the class to the best of our ability.

Obviously all of us still have a lot to learn (I know I still do) and it is hard when you don't know what you don't know.

I am really a dilettante everywhere, you know.
I am not an expert on anything, and I am slowly giving up reading fat books with lots of reasoning in them (including history books ; I'm getting lazy, I like historical fiction better...).
Last night I read my French poetry to my new.... POETRY club, mostly made up of older French people, the ones who have literary culture, and one man told me "you want to publish, no problem in getting published right now".
So, I'm going to a workshop in November and in February to work in English, my MOTHER tongue.
But being bilingual is really interesting...
I'll keep you posted.
XXXXXX000000 everyone.
And that was really interesting, your comment on Hell's post, Thai.
My mother used to say that in order to ask an intelligent question you had to know at least half the answer already. Right ?

Love is the energy that has created the Universe and all that is within it. Love is the most powerful energy in the Universe!

There is an organic Love that speaks to everyone, if only we would hear. Wherever there is Love there is peace, joy, fulfillment, trust, and abundance.

The giving and receiving of Love opens the door to greater understanding and acceptance.

Without Love there is chaos, hate, anger, and fear. This is why some negative things are the way they are in our world. There needs to be more giving and receiving of Love there.
Buy Viagra and enjoy life more .
Love has a consciousness of its own. It cannot be contained or defined by words. And, even though we often try to do so, Love cannot be labeled as a certain thing.
